News of Chevrolet’s success in China has been a hot topic in the automotive industry but now the American brand is ready to make enthusiasts buzz. The 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV will head to another Asian country where it’s sure to make a massive impact. Kia and Hyundai dominate South Korea but, with the arrival of the new Bolt EV, Chevrolet could give them a run for the market.
South Korean pricing and availability have yet to be revealed but the Bolt EV will launch sometime during the first half of 2017. James Kim, GM Korea President and CEO, made the announcement during the Korea Electronics Show. At the same time, he pointed out that the Bolt EV’s 238-mile range could easily make the drive from the Seoul, the capital, to Busan, a popular destination.
The Bolt EV truly embodies the ingenuity that is at the core of everything we do at Chevrolet,” Jim Kim said.
Despite much of the Bolt EV’s research and development taking place in South Korea, the model will be exported instead of assembled in the country.
We are confident that the new Chevrolet Bolt EV will make a significant impact in the South Korean market!
