2017 is finally here which means it’s time to come up with a resolution you plan to keep! Picking a resolution can be fairly easy for most people but keeping it is a much greater challenge.
- Talk About It – Believe it not, improving the odds that you’ll succeed in keeping your resolution can be as simple as talking about it. Discussing your resolution and plans to achieve it will create the motivation you need to keep it. Find a friend or family member that will sit down and listen. If all else fails, talk to a pet or any other animal that will sit still long enough to hear you out!
- Take Small Steps – The best way to kick a bad habit, like smoking, is to do so in small steps. Attempting to go from a pack-a-day smoker straight to a smoke-free citizen isn’t easy. Start by cutting down then eliminate the habit altogether.
- Don’t Be Afraid to Fail – Failure isn’t the end of the world. There. We said it. 2017 has 365 days in which you can continue to tackle your goal. If you do fail, simply pick yourself up and try again.
