Experience unique culture like none other at the annual Saline Celtic Festival. Born out of the relationship between Saline, Michigan, and our Sister City Brecon, Wales, the festival aims to educate and involve the local community on Celtic music, sports, dance, and kid-friendly activities like story-telling and crafts. With food, drinks, and vendors available onsite, the Saline Celtic Festival is a fun way to immerse yourself in another country right in the midst of Millpond Park.
The festival itself begins on July 14, at 5:30 p.m., with pub-themed activities like sampling local beer and food in addition to limerick and kilt competitions. These activities spill over into the next day, July 15, when the shuttle service begins as early as 7 a.m. for a day full of fun including an opening ceremony, dance competitions, and jousting matches. If you want to get excited for the festival early, head to downtown Saline on Thursday the 13th, for a sneak-preview of the festival’s musical acts during Saline’s Summer Music Series.
The Saline Celtic Festival is an entertaining way for the whole family to learn and participate in a new culture. Saturday online tickets are free for kids 12 and under, $5 for youth 13-17, and $10 for everyone 18+. Make sure you get them in advance so you don’t have to pay higher prices at the gate!
We at Bill Crispin Chevrolet hope you have a great weekend at the festival! Read more about our involvement in the Saline community and keep an eye out for updates on more community events coming soon!
